Meet Dr. Natalie Bernstein
With over 20 years as a licensed psychologist, I specialize in helping individuals, couples, and families navigate life’s challenges. My approach is direct, results-driven, and tailored to each client, quickly identifying patterns and offering clear strategies for meaningful change.
I’ve worked in diverse settings, including university counseling centers, psychiatric hospitals, community mental health, and private practice, giving me a deep understanding of human behavior across various life stages.
As a court-appointed child custody evaluator, I assess family dynamics to ensure the best outcomes for children. I also provide co-parenting therapy to support parents in building healthy communication and collaborative strategies post-separation.
In addition to clinical work, I teach master’s-level psychology students at The Chicago School and have contributed expert commentary to media outlets like WebMD, U.S. News & World Report, Parade, Bustle, and Shape.
My passion is helping clients break free from unhelpful patterns, strengthen relationships, and create lives that align with their values.
What It’s Like to Work with Me
Therapy with me is interactive, insightful, and results-oriented. I don’t just listen—I help you gain clarity, recognize patterns, and develop a clear path forward. Your time is valuable, and I work efficiently to ensure that every session is purposeful and productive.
Unlike traditional talk therapy, my approach is engaged and active. I offer thoughtful insights, alternative perspectives, and actionable strategies tailored to your unique situation. Whether you’re an individual seeking clarity, a couple rebuilding trust, or co-parents navigating challenges, I provide a structured, supportive space where real change happens.
Many of my clients come to me after feeling frustrated by past therapy experiences. They find my down-to-earth, direct, and compassionate style to be a refreshing change. My goal is to help you move forward with confidence—whether that means breaking unhelpful patterns, strengthening relationships, or finding a renewed sense of self.
Because therapy should fit into your life—not the other way around—I offer flexible scheduling options so you can get support when you need it most, whether that’s during a difficult transition or as challenges arise.
If you're looking for a therapy experience that’s productive, insightful, and tailored to you, let’s connect.
