Expectations

Raise your hand if you have a long to-do list. Keep it up if the majority of the things on your list are for other people. ✋🏻 ⁣⁣
⁣⁣
You’re busy. Stressed. Don’t take any time for yourself. And when someone asks you to add one more thing to your plate, you say yes because “It’s fine. It won’t take me too long. I already know how to do it and it’ll take longer if I have to explain it.” Sound right?⁣⁣
⁣⁣
Or...⁣⁣
⁣⁣
Your day is filled with lots of “shoulds.” “I’m home all day with the kids so I should be able to balance everything. I should work out. I should be able to have a clean house. I should be able to make dinner every night. I shouldn’t be tired.” Is this you?⁣⁣
⁣⁣
No one is expecting you to be more than you already are. No one chooses you to be in their life because you can make a great slideshow presentation or put together a costume last minute. ⁣⁣
⁣⁣
That’s not real. Where is this message coming from? (Look in the mirror🪞 ).⁣⁣
⁣⁣
Just for today...remove the high expectations, the unrealistic ideas, and the impossible vision of who you “should” be and just be you. It’s enough. ⁣⁣
