Indecision
Does this make sense? Indecision or choice?
“I don’t know what to do,”
“I guess I’ll just wait and see.”
I hear this a lot with my coaching clients, and there are times when indecision is OK.
But indecision, whether it is saying yes or no, or putting off something you need to do, is a decision.
Your passive acceptance of how someone treats you is a decision.
Your avoidance of an issue because you don’t want to create an argument, is a decision.
And maybe you are not ready to take such a bold stance in whatever situation you’re going through right now, and that’s fine!
So what do you do?
How do you handle the stress and anxiety that arises?
For now, own your indecision.
Say it in a powerful way...
“I am choosing to not make a decision right now.”
“I have decided to wait until...”
This little mind shift will help alleviate the negative side effects of indecision (anxiety, worry, depression, fear), because you have flipped from indecision to choice.
It is a temporary solution, but one that can get you through a difficult moment until you’re ready.
